About Liberia

Liberia is a Negro Republic on the west coast of Africa.  In 1822, it was established by freed American slaves through a colonization project.  The current population is approximately three million.

Civil wars and mass genocide have plagued this country's people since 1989.  Millions of innocent people have been brutally killed in these wars. Women, children and the disabled suffer the most.
